Bonhams Greenwich Auction 2019 - little enthusiasm for American muscles
Summary
Bonhams offered 101 vehicles at the Greenwich Concours d'Elégance on June 2, 2019. Only just under half of the total value of the vehicles (USD 10.4 million) was realized, with a sales rate of 72 percent. Many cars that were offered without a reserve price had to be knocked down, in some cases well below the estimated value. Good for the buyer, bad for the consignor. This included a surprisingly large number of muscle cars, some of which came into new hands for surprisingly low prices. This auction article analyzes the results and shows pictures of some of the vehicles sold.

101 vehicles (including a few motorcycles, a boat and engines) were offered by Bonhams at the Greenwich Concours d'Elégance on June 2, 2019. There was no lack of diversity in Greenwich. The average age was just under 60 years, but there was still a difference of 100 years between the oldest and youngest vehicles. From future classics to pre-war cars, everything was on offer. According to Bonhams, the vehicles were worth a total of USD 10.4 million. However, as only 72 percent of the vehicles were sold, the total turnover was ultimately only USD 4.4 million, especially as many cars were sold for less than their estimated value.
