Summary
In addition to around 110 automobiles, four license plates and a boat, Bonhams also auctioned 99 automobiles of various types on the occasion of Goodwood Speedweek on October 17, 2020. Bidding was possible both in Goodwood and at the Bonhams headquarters in London, as well as online and telephone bidding. However, the bidders did not want to bite, the expectations for many vehicles were not met and only 44 percent of the vehicles were sold. Instead of the expected £19 million, only £5.5 million was raised. Were coronavirus fears and the threat of a no-deal Brexit to blame? This auction report analyzes the results and shows all the vehicles in the picture.

Special times, special solutions! After all major Goodwood racing events had to be canceled in the Covid year 2020, the Goodwood Speedweek was scheduled for October 16 to 18, 2020 as a quasi-replacement without an on-site audience. On the occasion of this Speedweek, Bonhams also held the auction, which has already become a tradition, but which had to obey special rules. The lots were set up in the Earls Court building at the Goodwood Circuit and could also be viewed there by prior arrangement. The auction was held in London at 101 Bond Street, with a live link to the salesroom at Goodwood. A limited number of bidders were able to follow the auction and place bids at both locations. The usual internet, telephone call and pre-bids were also available.
