Summary
For the third time, Bonhams invited bidders to Cheserex, near the Rhone city of Geneva, on June 20, 2021, to bid on 47 classic cars, including a motorcycle and a children's car. With ten cars each, the Aston Martin and Mercedes-Benz brands were particularly well represented. With an average age of just under 38 years, the bidding, which was estimated at over CHF 12 million in total, was rather youthful. Two young cars from McLaren and Ford fetched the highest prices, followed by a Bugatti Type 57C from 1939. On average, more than the median estimate was offered. An Aston Martin even fetched more than double the estimate. 89 percent of the vehicles were sold. This auction report shows impressions on site, all the cars and an analysis of the results.

Preview (beginning of the article)
The Bonmont Golf Club in Chéserex in western Switzerland, near Geneva, offers the ideal atmosphere for auctioning top-class automobiles. Bonhams hosted the Bonmont Auction for the third time. The auction was held outside under a marquee, most of the cars could be viewed at the entrance to the golf club, while some of the flagship cars were located directly in front of the auction marquee. Around 150 bidders were able to participate on site, with others registering by phone call, pre-bid or online. While the preview took place in dry weather, I was glad to have a roof to protect me from the rain during the auction.
