While some of the Astons sold for unexpectedly high prices, some of the super classics were left standing or sold for far less than expected. This auction review analyzes the results and shows the offer in the picture.

Preview (beginning of the article)
The Bond Street auction at Bonhams headquarters just before Christmas has a long tradition. On December 15, 2023, 31 cars worth just over £5 million went under the hammer, almost half without a reserve price. A total of 25 vehicles were sold, i.e. 81% of the offer. However, the average price achieved was not £162,661 per car as hoped, but only £114,885, which was due to the fact that the most valuable vehicles in particular could not be knocked down. The average age of just over 45 years said little about the breadth of the offer; in fact, the oldest car was 110 years old, while the eight youngest vehicles were just 13 years old. With the exception of the 1940s, all decades were represented from the mid-teens onwards.
