Preview (beginning of the article)
On June 29, 2025, it was the height of summer in Switzerland, with temperatures on the Bonmont golf course near Chéserex near Geneva well above 30 degrees. The participants in the Bonhams auction also felt the effects of this, which is why cooling champagne was served in the bar. But the auctioneer in the yellow dress remained cool, even when the microphone started failing. The 46 vehicles on offer, two of which were on a slightly smaller scale, were just under 43 years old on average and were valued at just over CHF 13 million in total in the run-up to the auction. 26% of the cars were offered without a reserve price.
