Summary
On the occasion of the Concours d'Elégance Amelia Island in March 2017, the auction house Bonhams organized an auction of 86 cars with a total value of around USD 17.5 million at the Fernandina Beach Golf Club on 9 March 2017. While many of the newer cars, such as the Porsche Carrera GT, did not find a new owner, the oldest car in the auction, of all things, shone with a price well above expectations. A BMW 2002 Turbo also came as a positive surprise, while the otherwise highly acclaimed Jaguar E-Types were disappointing. This article analyzes the results and shows all the vehicles, as well as the detailed results.

On the occasion of the Concours d'Elégance Amelia Island in March 2017, the auction house Bonhams organized an auction of 86 cars with a total value of around USD 17.5 million at the Fernandina Beach Golf Club on 9 March 2017. 84% of the vehicles were sold, although the average prices were below expectations, which was not entirely unexpected given that 60% of the lots were offered without a reserve price. Of the 86 cars, 13 were from the pre-war period, while 10 were built in the new century. The ever-popular sixties were represented by 22 vehicles. 4 Alfa Romeo, 5 Ferrari, 6 Jaguar, 7 Mercedes-Benz and 12 Porsche represent the largest brand contingents, but there is also a Godsal, an Allard, a Stoddard Dayton and a Mazda Miata (MX-5), which found its way into a new garage for USD 16,500 (EUR 15,638 or CHF 16,747).
