On June 11, 2016, it was all about speed at the Auctionata auction in Berlin from 3:00 pm. 25 sporty cars and two no less sporty boats with a total value of EUR 3.6 million or CHF 4 million went under the hammer for 2.5 hours in the presence of presenter Horst Lichter. 15 Ferrari sports cars competed against seven Porsches. The sales rate for the Ferraris was just over 50%, for the Porsches 29%, taking into account the cars knocked down under reserve. Only one Ferrari Mondial T from 1991 was knocked down without reserve. In general, the highest bids were on average 53% of the estimated value, and in many cases the bidders were only slightly off the starting price. Apparently, the interested parties were more oriented towards the starting price than the lower estimate. The bidders were apparently not prepared to pay current typical market prices for the vehicles.
