Summary
Artcurial auctioned 81 automobiles in addition to some automobilia and a Vélosolex on October 16, 2022 in Paris. 78 percent of the vehicles were sold, the most expensive being a Lamborghini Miura P400 S as a garage find and an almost unique Ferrari Daytona. The biggest surprise, however, was a modified 1974 Brazilian VW Bus T1, which sold for almost three times as much as expected. This auction report analyzes the results and shows pictures of all the cars, including those that did not sell.

Preview (beginning of the article)
Every autumn, Artcurial organizes an auction near the Champs-Elysées in Paris. On Sunday, October 16, 2022, it was that time again. 81 cars and some automobilia went under the hammer for almost 3 1/2 hours. The value of the 81 cars was estimated at almost EUR 9 million. On average, the vehicles were 45 years old and 32 percent of them went under the hammer without a reserve price. This auction clearly showed how important the Internet has become even for traditional auctions. While around 150 to 200 people attended the auction in the hall, there were over 1600 bidders on the Internet ("bidders viewing"). Accordingly, many bids were placed online, but the telephone bidders were also essential for the sales result. And even though the hall began to empty after 18:00, telephone and Internet bidders remained at the bar.
