Summary
In contrast to Bonhams and RM/Sotheby's, who stuck to the February date for their Paris auctions, Artcurial postponed the auction together with Rétromobile to the third week of March, in order to auction a total of 170 automobiles and around three dozen motorcycles, as well as some automobilia, over three afternoons/evenings. The cars, which covered a wide range of makes and eras, achieved a combined turnover of EUR 35 million. The most expensive was a works Porsche 907, followed by four newer Ferraris and a Gordini once driven by Fangio. There were surprises primarily among the cheaper cars. This auction review analyzes the results of the Friday and Saturday auctions and shows the cars in pictures.

Preview (beginning of the article)
The Arcturial auction was originally announced for the beginning of February 2022 together with the Rétromobile . When the classic car fair was postponed by a month to March due to coronavirus, Artrcurial went along with it, unlike Bonhams and RM/Sotheby's. The three-day auction then took place from March 18 to 20, 2022, with the third day dedicated to automobilia and the like, while 170 automobiles (including two tractors) and not quite three dozen motorcycles went under the hammer on Friday and Saturday from 15:00 each day. With this offer, Artcurial was also an integral part of the trade fair and took up around a third of the lower of two hall levels. However, the exhibition was not accessible to all visitors, so "normal" trade fair visitors could only take a look at the interesting vehicles from the fence.
