ATS 1963-1964 - Individualist
Summary
There have been around 10,000 car brands and designers - most of them have disappeared. ATS (Automobili Turismo Sport) is one of them. This was born out of the fact that former Ferrari top executives wanted to compete against Ferrari on the road, but the attempt was a flop. However, the last ATS models were still successful.

Compared to other high-performance coupés from Italy, the ATS 2500 GT presented at the 1963 Geneva Motor Show looked graceful and individual. The 433 cm long hatchback was created at the Allemano coachbuilding plant in Turin, which did not disclose the name of the designer. The ATS was the second mid-engined road sports car after the René Bonnet Djet of 1962. ATS stood for Automobili Turismo Sport and was the result of the "palace revolution" at Ferrari at the end of 1961, which had led to the dismissal of six top managers. They set out to compete against Ferrari on the racetrack as well as on the road. However, the ATS F1 was a flop instead of an advertising medium for the road coupé, and only nine of these were built (also due to a lack of reserves on the part of the financiers led by Giorgio Billi).
