Preview (beginning of the article)
The storm constantly blows snow into the deeply milled road surface. Conditions for daredevils and cascaders. Klaus Fritzinger, the former footballer from Kaiserslautern, plunges from the start in Burzet up to the source of the Loire in a 280 hp Ford Capri. Co-driver Schorns gives the command until rien ne va plus. The Germans fly off the track. A tree saves them from falling into the void. Schorns is injured and the ambulance sets off. The start is interrupted. But the storm does not follow the orders from Monaco. It blows snow into the bobsleigh run and within a short time it is filled to the brim. Over and out. After an hour, the race starts again. No one can get up to the source. The test has to be aborted. So far, so good! After a lengthy period of radio silence, the rally organizers get in touch to say something like this: anyone who has not completed the Burzet stage will be disqualified and they wish everyone a safe journey home! After all, that's about 140 crews.
