Two French crews arrive in Monaco in beautiful weather without penalty points, score the same number of points in the acceleration and braking tests and achieve exactly the same time in the new hill climb near Eze. And because both had chosen Athens as their starting point and had not damaged their cars on rock faces, telegraph poles or kerbs, the best-known Trévoux/Lesurque (Hotchkiss 686) and Paul/Contet (Delahaye 135 M) were the ex-aequo winners. They split the prize money of 70,000 francs between them. And the winner's trophy? Sawed in two?
