Athens (3,786 km) or Umea (3,751 km) are the furthest starting locations in 1930. Athens is classified as very difficult. Never before has a competitor who started in Athens arrived in Monaco. Nevertheless, eight competitors make their way to the Acropolis. The plus points are tempting. 57 teams prefer Umea in the far north to the other 18 starting locations.
