Ellen Lohr is a well-known name in the motorsport world. After all, she was the first and so far only woman to win a DTM race and even competed against racing legends such as Michael Schumacher and Klaus Ludwig. Ellen discovered her fascination for racing cars at an early age. Her father Alfred owned his own body shop and was an ambitious amateur racing driver himself. As a result, Ellen started working on karts at the age of 12. As soon as she was 14, she was allowed to get behind the wheel. However, her first attempt at driving was not very successful. With a cushion behind her back so that her feet could reach the pedals, she stepped on the gas and landed roughly in the pile of tires and decided - now more than ever!
