Renault's great motorsport adventure began 120 years ago. Renault and sport have always been a bold challenge. It was August 26, 1899, when the two brothers Marcel and Louis Renault made the final preparations for their first race in Hennemont. It led from Paris to Trouville and the participants included not only cars, but also runners and riders. Louis won with his "Boliden" with an incredible top speed of 35 km/h ahead of his brother. He won the small car category, the so-called "Voiturette". This victory made the Renault brand famous in one fell swoop and the orders for vehicles were not long in coming.
