After a wait of around six months, the time had finally come again on May 11, 2025 and the "Older Classics" at Motorworld Zurich in Kempthal once again invited people to come together. And the classic car drivers came in droves.

Best conditions
With ideal weather conditions - sunshine, pleasant temperatures - it didn't take too long for the entire Motorworld at the former Maggi factory in Kemptthal to be filled with old cars (and a few motorcycles).

The entrance is now back down at
For experienced Older Classics visitors, the relocation of the entrance back down to the station meant a certain change, which probably forced some classic car drivers to make a U-turn. However, with little traffic on the side road, this was hardly a problem.

At the entrance below, there were sometimes traffic jams in two lanes until the arrivals had paid their fee (CHF 5.00) and were then allowed to zoom through the grounds to a free space.
This was of course a welcome opportunity for the public to see the cars driving (slowly).
Legendary variety
The special thing about events like the Older Classics is the wide range of cars on offer. You could hear it everywhere: "It simply had something of everything" or, for non-Züri-German speakers: it simply had something of everything.

And indeed, the range was enormous. There were many former everyday cars on display, some of which were still first-hand, but some of which had already been passed on several times. And some of these cars were driven by crews who were significantly younger than the car itself.

Ford, Opel, VW, but also Peugeot or Citroën, Riley or Austin, and Fiat and Co. anyway, sometimes it felt like 50 plus years ago.
The flood of "bread-and-butter" cars, which were once and still are reasonably priced, did not deter owners of exotic cars from making the pilgrimage to Kemptthal.

Several examples of the Mercedes-Benz 300 SL were on display, as well as various cars from Ferrari and Lamborghini.

The Americans were also well represented, as were the British. Almost the entire chronology of MG models from the 1940s to the 1970s was on display.
See and be seen
For the participants at the open-brand meeting, chatting with friends and enthusiasts was of course part of the experience, and nobody had to go hungry or thirsty either. While the first cars left in the early hours of the morning, perhaps to meet up for Mother's Day lunch, the last participants only arrived in the afternoon.

This resulted in a constant change, which was of course also exciting for the visitors. As always at the Older Classics.

P.S. If you missed the first event on May 11, 2025, you will have another opportunity to take part on June 8, August 17 and September 14, 2025.
