Summary
In the spring of 1991, Porsche presented the RS version of the 964 at the Geneva Motor Show, a weight-optimized version without luxury, but with a little more power. It was a real driver's car that could also master a trip to the shopping center, but felt much more at home on the race track. Due to the limited production output, the 964 RS is one of the most sought-after Porsche models of modern times. This report describes the history of the lightweight 964 RS and shows the car in many pictures. A sound sample is also included.

But let's first go back 30 years to 1988, when the four-wheel-drive 964 was launched. And although you couldn't tell by looking at it, 87 percent of the parts had been changed. The 959 was just as much the inspiration as its successful predecessor, the G model, which had been in production for 15 years.
