Visible changes are rare at Peugeot; they are quietly and unobtrusively developed further (the downside is a certain rigidity in the face of criticism of details). And when changes are made, they are usually made with instinct at the right moment. Thus the 504 L was created from the modular system of existing technology as a current money saver and at exactly the right time - just before the crisis - as a fuel saver. But anyone wanting to buy it had to wait 6-8 weeks at the beginning of 1974. Some prospective buyers chose another car, because the Peugeot 504 L was not the only way to save money and gasoline in this class.
