Summary
At a quick glance, an Opel Lotus Omega hardly looks any different from its sedan counterparts from Rüsselsheim, but under the hood sits a twin-turbo six-cylinder engine with 377 hp, which takes the four-door car to 200 km/h faster than almost the entire sports car elite of the time. This put the six-figure price into perspective, but could not prevent the Opel from being misunderstood by everyone. This driving report tells the development history of the model, of which fewer than 1000 were built, and describes driving impressions from today, illustrated with many pictures.

To the left of it in the rev counter, however, a small Lotus logo appears, indicating the seriousness of the speedometer scale. On the outside, the front and rear spoilers and widened wheel arches give the impression of great power. But you only realize that over 360 horsepower is gathered under the hood when you set off.
