With the 1800, Fiat launched an absolute all-rounder in 1959. The elegant saloon masterfully combined comfort, space and appealing driving performance. The overall package was so convincing that the 1800 could almost be considered an "auto vitruviano". However, like any anthropogenic product, the Italian model student was not immune to flaws. This article reproduces an original test report from spring 1960 and shows the Fiat 1800 in extensive historical images and sales material.
