Summary
From 1971 to 1977, Fiat built the 130 Coupé, parallel to the previously introduced 130 saloon. Pininfarina and its designers Paolo Martin and Leonardo Fioravanti had created a straightforward and elegant luxury coupé that made the most of the saloon's advanced mechanics. Despite this, sales remained modest and even today the beautiful coupés are still available at reasonable prices. This report describes the genesis of the beautiful coupé, describes driving impressions and shows it in 70 pictures and in the sales brochure. You can even hear the car!

Although Fiat was primarily successful with its small models, large saloons and coupés were always built as well, because the directors also wanted to be on the road in style. In the sixties, the 2300 sedan played this role. As the model was getting on in years, work was already underway on a successor.
