The causes of later passions usually lie in early youth. This is also the case here. What can you expect when your older brother is an Elvis fan, your father is a truck driver and Johnny Cash is playing on the radio? Clearly, enthusiasm for American cars is inevitable. But it was still a long way to go before I acquired the Plymouth Fury presented here. In his search for a car that embodied his dream of the "American way of life", Jens Wilde regularly visited a classic car collector on Lake Constance. One day, he was greeted with the words "Come with me, I've got something new" and led into the hall. And there it was: a 1960 Plymouth Fury 4-Door Hardtop in the color "Caramel Poly". Jens had never seen one like it before, but he was immediately hooked. The tail fins, the crazy steering wheel, the four-door coupé body - he had to have it! Unfortunately, selling the newly acquired road cruiser was completely out of the question at the time.
