Actually, there is hardly anything more obvious than wrapping an aircraft designer's car in a streamlined body. But it took almost ten years for aero and dynamics to finally come together. The breathtakingly beautiful result in 1939 made up for the long wait. This article tells the story of two Czechoslovakian companies and how they came together in the Aero 50 Dynamik with Sodomka bodywork.

After the First World War, when the demand for small airplanes was virtually non-existent, the Czechoslovakian aircraft manufacturer Aero, like so many of its fellow sufferers, sought its salvation in automobile construction. But instead of starting from scratch, company owner Dr. Vladimír Kabeš bought the small Prague company Enka in December 1928, which had already developed and built a small car in small numbers, but lacked the resources for large-scale production. Kabeš bought the designer at the same time, so that Enka founder Břetislav Novotný became the head of Aero's new automobile department.
