"Originally shaped" - Chevrolet Camaro Frua Coupé

Pietro Frua was responsible for some designs that went down in history. These included the Maserati Mistral and the Monteverdi High Speed 375 S, as well as several others. A less well-known design from Frua's pen was the Chevrolet Camaro Frua. It was a kind of "Europeanized" alternative to the US muscle car. It was only built once. This article tells the story of the unique car from the pen of this influential designer.

In a career spanning five decades, Italian automotive designer Pietro Frua (1913-1983) created many car bodies that not only made him one of the most famous "Fashion Kings of the Car World" during his lifetime, but also withstood the test of time and are still counted among the most beautiful classic cars of all time, including his designs for Maserati (A6G, Mistral, Quattroporte), Renault (Floride), Glas (GT) and the first Monteverdi (High Speed 375 S). However, like every designer, he also had his moments of weakness when he was not so successful with the lines or when he bowed to the wishes of his client.
