The WinterRAID has long since ceased to be an insider tip; it has a large following and many participants are "repeat offenders". Taking part in a winter rally is a very special challenge, because driving in snow, ice and slippery terrain is simply very different.
Starting point St. Moritz
Even the starting point is world-famous. The WinterRAID participants set off on their journey in the middle of the pedestrian zone in St. Moritz on January 16, 2020.
From there, it's an exciting ride over the wintry passes to Bolzano (Bozen), the capital of South Tyrol. Here, participants can look forward to the Dolomites Southern Loop for the first time. These are southern Dolomite routes that have never been covered by the WinterRAID before.
A driving experience and winter driving pleasure are guaranteed!
The return journey to St. Moritz on January 18 will take place for the first time via the winter rally paradise of Valtellina and, as the last of the many passes, the drivers will experience true cornering pleasure on the Maloja Pass. The classic cars cover a total distance of around 950 km: in sunshine, snowfall, on ice and snow.
Regularity and driving skills are crucial
Only those who have the route guidance and their vehicle under control can excel in the WinterRAID regularity tests. You can register until November 30, 2019.
The WinterRAID is preceded by the optional Bernina Prologue on January 15, 2020, which is a kind of run-in under sporting conditions. Riders who are not taking part in the WinterRAID can also take part in the prologue.
