The IAA International Motor Show for Passenger Cars 2019, which will take place in Frankfurt from September 12 to 22, is one of the largest new car trade fairs in the world. It is also strongly committed to communicating topics of the future. The IAA 2019 is repositioning itself with new formats, such as the IAA Conference and IAA Experience. These new formats are designed to give IAA visitors a holistic experience of the mobility solutions of tomorrow. This is another reason why the IAA is being held under the motto "Driving tomorrow".
The "driving of tomorrow" with the "driving of yesterday"
The Motorworld Group will be represented as a partner at the IAA Experience for the first time. This was announced by the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA) as organizer of the IAA and the Motorworld Group. The result of the cooperation is a new concept which, as part of the IAA Experience, emphasizes and expands the experience of mobility on the IAA grounds in Frankfurt: the 'IAA Heritage by Motorworld'.
In the immediate vicinity of the entrance at the Torhaus on the Frankfurt exhibition grounds, a gross hall area of over 11,000 square meters will be occupied for this purpose. The new format will focus exclusively on classic automobiles and motorcycles in the premium segment as well as related high-end crafts and service providers.
With over 800,000 visitors over 11 days, a basic interest in old cars is also guaranteed. Accordingly, a unique international platform is to be offered on the 11,000 square meters, offering visitors the entire emotional world of classic automobiles.
Andreas Dünkel, Chairman of the Motorworld Group, emphasizes: "At the IAA 2019, we are creating a bridge between the roots of mobility and its future with the new classic car section 'IAA Heritage by Motorworld'. Visitors can expect an additional experience in a class of its own. And our exhibitors can be sure of a perfect environment for their presentations."
A useful addition
VDA President Bernhard Mattes emphasized the importance of historic vehicles at the IAA: "Tradition and the future are two sides of the same coin. The IAA is always the hotspot for the latest models, but has also been the crowd-puller for all fans of historic vehicles for many years. With the 'IAA Heritage by Motorworld', a new area is now being created at the IAA that offers visitors an even better impression of the fascinating history of individual mobility and thus conveys the dimension between the future and origin of mobility. We are looking forward to working with our competent partner Motorworld."
The 'IAA Heritage by Motorworld' aims to emphasize the heritage of historic vehicles and bring them to life for visitors. This makes it an ideal fit with the concept of the IAA, as the combination of historic and modern vehicles has always been one of its central elements. For example, the VDA has already presented special shows with historic vehicles at previous IAA Cars together with the Automobilclub von Deutschland (AvD) and the Zentralverband Deutsches Kraftfahrzeuggewerbe (ZDK). The special show with vintage commercial vehicles also has a permanent place at the IAA Commercial Vehicles, which the VDA organizes in even-numbered years in Hanover.
The 'IAA Heritage by Motorworld' is a new format in addition to the already numerous Motorworld events such as the classic car trade fairs "Motorworld Classics Berlin", "Motorworld Classics Bodensee" and the events "Motorworld Oldtimertage Fürstenfeld" and "Motorworld HistoriCar".
It remains to be seen whether they will be in competition with each other.
