Tobias Moretti and Matthias Walkner, two of Austria’s best-known competitors, will be at the starting line. Internationally acclaimed actor Tobias Moretti has for many years combined his artistic career with a deep passion for historic vehicles and motorsports. As a two-time World Rally Raid Champion and 2018 Dakar winner, Matthias Walkner made motorsports history as the first Austrian to win the motorcycle category of the Dakar Rally.
Top chef Johann Lafer will make his debut at the Ennstal-Classic in 2026. The internationally renowned restaurateur and passionate classic car enthusiast will be competing in this traditional rally for the first time.
Also participating is Richard Lietz, one of Austria’s most successful GT drivers. The Porsche factory driver has claimed six class victories at the 24 Hours of Le Mans and won the FIA World Endurance Championship title in the GT category.
The lineup also includes Laura Kreihammer, a successful race car driver who is widely known to the general public as an expert and TV personality for GRIP Motormagazin. German ski racer Thomas Dreßen, a five-time World Cup downhill champion, has long demonstrated his technical prowess not only on the slopes but also behind the wheel of historic cars.
Siegfried “Sigi” Wolf, for his part, is one of Austria’s most prominent industrial executives and held leadership positions in the international automotive and supplier industries for decades.
The Ennstal-Classic is also attracting international attention on social media. Among those participating are influencers @alaiialt (France), @classiclifestyleleco (United Kingdom), @leaniedermeier, @chiaradumonde, and @phil.beis. Together, they reach several hundred thousand classic car and motorsports fans across Europe.
Another highlight awaits visitors on Saturday, July 25, at the Porsche Design Grand Prix in Gröbming. In addition to the participants of the Ennstal-Classic, numerous well-known figures from motorsports, sports, and culture are expected to attend.
Timo Bernhard, one of the most successful endurance racers of the past decades, will be coming to the Ennstal. The German has won the 24 Hours of Le Mans twice, the 24 Hours of the Nürburgring, and the FIA World Endurance Championship.
A special highlight for motorsports fans is the reunion of the legendary “Trio Infernale.” With Hans-Joachim Stuck, Dieter Quester, and Leopold, Prince of Bavaria, the iconic trio will be reunited in full for the first time this year at the Porsche Design Grand Prix in Gröbming. After the planned reunion last year fell through at the last minute, visitors can look forward to seeing these three fan favorites together in 2026.
Rally legend Rauno Aaltonen, known in motorsports circles as “The Professor,” made motorsports history with his victory at the Monte Carlo Rally and his win of the European Rally Championship. The Ennstal-Classic also welcomes singer and actor Peter Kraus, who has been closely associated with the classic car scene for many years.
Daniele Audetto, one of Europe’s most experienced and successful motorsports managers, is traveling to Gröbming. The former Ferrari sports director played a key role in securing several Formula 1 world championship titles and later led other renowned racing teams.
From the world of Austrian sports, Hans Knauß is coming to Gröbming. The former World Cup champion from Schladming is now one of the country’s best-known TV experts.
Motorsports fans can also look forward to a special reunion with Klaus Ludwig. The three-time DTM champion, three-time winner of the 24 Hours of Spa, and two-time winner of the 24 Hours of the Nürburgring is one of the most successful German race car drivers of all time.
Once again in 2026, the Ennstal-Classic will bring together an extraordinary lineup of motorsports legends, successful athletes, entrepreneurs, and cultural figures, transforming the Ennstal into a hub for the international classic car scene for four days.
