The thrilling DTM finale will take place at the Hockenheimring from October 4-6, 2019. Once again, the best motorsport will be on offer for all generations. The line-up is not limited to the final participants, but will also feature various stars from the DRM, who will delight the spectators with various demo runs parallel to the racing program.
Various DRM/DTM legends back on the race track
Parallel to the Newtimer racing program, the DRM Classics demo runs will take place again this year. Le Mans legend Jochen Mass and three-time DRM champion Hans Heyer, among others, will once again really step on the gas and delight the spectators. Of course, figures such as Hans-Joachim Stuck and the most successful DTM driver of all time - yes, we are talking about Bernd Schneider - will also be there.
Both are pushing the pedal to the metal especially for the final. Stuck will be driving a BMW M1, Mass will be driving his Ford Capri RS 2600 from the 1972 DRM and Schneider will be sitting in a 2008 DTM Mercedes. According to rumors, Matthias Lauda will also be among the DRM drivers. At the time of writing, however, this rumor has not yet been officially confirmed. The drivers Walter Röhrl, Fittipaldi, Harald Grohs and Mario Ketterer, who are also in the line-up, round off the program. This guarantees fun and excitement for young and old alike.
Attractive side attractions
In addition to the already very varied program, there will be a paddock away from the race track where the original cars of the DRM legends will be on display. This will allow spectators to experience a chapter in the history of the DRM up close. The older generation can reminisce about the good old days, while the younger generation can enjoy the cars. Perhaps this will also encourage the next generation of classic car enthusiasts. If possible, Bernd Schneider and Co. will also be available in person for discussions, interviews and, of course, photos.
Bridge between classic and modern
The symbiosis of classic and modern makes the DTM finale at the Hockenheimring an experience for all generations. Be it because of the memories of the 70s and 80s that are brought back to life or because of the fact that you can experience up close how both classic and modern sports cars are let off the leash and the drivers once again press the gas pedal to the floor in head-to-head races and offer the spectators the best racing.
