After the great success of the first Ford A classic car meeting last year, there will be another meeting of the most famous pre-war classic cars in 2019. The aim is to bring together as many vehicles and owners of the famous Model A from Ford as possible. The 1927 - 1931 model years are particularly welcome, but Model T 1932 B models can also take part in the event without any complications.
Participants are expected to arrive on Friday, July 5, 2019. There will be an excursion on Saturday, July 6, 2019. On Sunday, July 7, 2019, the vehicles will be presented as part of a classic car show around the Technikmuseum Freudenberg.
The event officially ends on Sunday afternoon at 17:00. No entry fee will be charged.
Procedure - Friday, July 5, 2019
Friday is arrival day. For participants who arrive early, coffee and cake will be waiting to welcome them at the Technikmuseum Freudenberg from 2 pm. There will now be enough time to unload the vehicle from the trailer, park it and check in at the hotel. The same applies, of course, to participants arriving on the road. A rustic evening with Ford A friends will be held in the premises of the Museum of Technology from 19:00. Catering and a program will be provided.
Schedule - Saturday, July 6, 2019
Saturday is dedicated to a classic car drive. Participants will meet at 9:00 a.m. on the grounds of the Museum of Technology. The starting flag will be waved at 9:30 a.m. sharp. The route leads along small side roads and country lanes through beautiful countryside in the Bergisches Land region. This is also our destination for the lunch break; the LVR open-air museum in Lindlar.
At 2 p.m., the journey continues via secondary routes to the afternoon destination. The convoy returns to Freudenberg at around 17:00. Now there is enough time to park the classic cars safely and take a breather.
From 19:00, the participants will meet us at the "Hotel Zur Altstadt" to spend a nice evening together with like-minded people and good food.
Schedule - Sunday, July 7, 2019
Sunday will be dedicated to the presentation of the classic cars. Participants will meet at 10:00 a.m. on the grounds of the Freudenberg Museum of Technology. An interesting program awaits the participants and visitors to the meeting. The marshals will ensure a stress-free day and guide the vehicles to their parking spaces.
In addition to the presentation of the vehicles, the entire museum is in action: the blacksmiths demonstrate their craftsmanship with skillful hammer blows in the in-house forge. The over 100-year-old "mechanical workshop", powered by a "Möller steam engine", gives an idea of what it once looked like in Ford's factories 100 years ago. At the 250-year-old looms, weavers demonstrate an important branch of industry in the Siegerland region, while on the upper floor of the museum, lectures on the A model quench the thirst for knowledge of visitors and participants.
For the young and young at heart, not only model steam engines are in action, but the large garden railroad also invites you to take a ride. Live music brings the sounds of times gone by to life and, of course, there will be plenty to eat and drink on this day too. The event ends at around 17:00. An earlier departure is of course possible.
Registration and participation information
Participation in the event is free of charge for classic car owners. This means that no entry fee will be charged. However, participants are responsible for paying for the entire weekend. Costs for accommodation, meals and entrance fees (external during the excursion) are to be borne by the participants themselves. The organizer will endeavour to plan the event in a cost-conscious manner so that everyone will be able to take part.
Spontaneous visits with the classic car are of course welcome.
Nevertheless, it is important for the organization of the meeting to know how many participants we can expect. This applies in particular to the day of arrival 05.07.2019 as well as for the excursion on Saturday, 06.07.2019. We therefore ask for a short registration by e-mail. (pressestelle 'at' technikmuseum-freudenberg.de or by telephone on 0171 5458618. The contact person is Alexander Fischbach. Several vehicles per participant can also be registered.
