The famous Donington Historic Festival will once again take place from Saturday, May 2 to Monday, May 4, 2015. The popular but relaxed and family-friendly event in Donington Park has many new highlights planned for 2015.
3 days of racing fun
Visitors can expect three days of world-class racing with a starting field of cars from the 1930s to the 1990s. The Super Touring Car Trophy will feature Le Mans prototypes, single-seater racing cars, GT vehicles, sports cars and touring cars.
Other highlights include a display of historic Formula 1 and GP cars and supercars across the decades. Whether you have a soft spot for pre-war racing cars, a crush on 1960s Aston Martins or have always wanted to get up close and personal with a 1980s Lamborghini, there's something for everyone at the Donington Historic Festival in England.
Up close
Away from the main race track, the historic rally cars will once again fill the air with the hot smell of rubber. Powerful Group B cars and the iconic vehicles of the 'Historic Rally Car Register' will entertain the spectators and provide fun and excitement. The paddocks will also be open to the public so that visitors can admire the machines and experience them up close.
More than just racing
Historic go-karts will also be returning to the 2015 Donington Historic Festival. Various car clubs will also be showcasing a great collection of vehicles.
Visitors to the festival will also have the opportunity to visit the Donington Grand Prix Collection. This is the world's largest collection of Grand Prix cars and also features the Wheatcroft Collection of historic military vehicles.
Tickets
Advance tickets cost £20 for a one-day ticket, £32 for a two-day ticket and £45 for a three-day racing experience at Donington. Tickets purchased at the event cost £25, £40 and £60. Tickets go on sale at 17:00 on Wednesday evening, April 29, 2015.
Members of clubs present and registered at the festival receive a special discount. Club organizers can register their club on the event website.
