The third edition of the Swiss Classic World Rally will once again start on Saturday, May 30, 2026 as a one-day driving event as part of the Swiss Classic World classic car fair.
The one-day format has proven itself and is popular. The rally is aimed at drivers of classic vehicles who enjoy driving an attractive route according to a road book and completing various tests along the way. Some of these tests are "regularities", i.e. covering a shorter or longer distance in a precisely prescribed time (measured using light barriers). However, they can also involve tricky navigation tasks or precise maneuvering of the vehicle. There are also secret or announced drive-through checks. The better a team performs, the fewer penalty points it receives.
The rally is a sporting event, with the focus on precise driving and navigation. However, it is designed in such a way that even rally novices can have fun. The route table allows for safe driving on public roads. Socializing and gastronomy are not neglected either.
Invitation to tender
The route of the Swiss Classic World Rally starts and ends at the Lucerne Exhibition Center. The daily stage is around 200 km long. The route leads along attractive routes, is secret and must be found using a road book.
All teams drive the same route with the same stages and are grouped together in a joint classification. There are also special classifications for the best women's team, the best light barrier team, the best u35 team and the best team using "hourglass" criteria.
The route is determined by means of Chinese signs (road book) and simple map sketches. All special stages end at known targets (measured by light barrier). No constant cutting speeds are required. However, certain points may have to be approached at precisely specified times.
The vehicles must be at least 30 years old (i.e. for 2026 up to and including year of manufacture 1996). Vehicles with contemporary modifications may also take part. Teams with pre-war vehicles (up to and including 1948) will be scored with a coefficient of 0.9, i.e. the number of penalty points will be multiplied by 0.9 at the end.
The entry fee per team is CHF 895 (incl. VAT) and CHF 795 (incl. VAT) for teams with cars built before 1991.
