On Thursday, January 23, 2020, the Swiss Car Register Academy will take place in Safenwil, Switzerland. The event is divided into two parts and deals with the so-called "paradigm shift" in the world of classic automobiles.
A paradigm shift in the way society sees things
There is no doubt that a paradigm shift is emerging in the way our society views the automobile. Not only are decisive technical changes underway, but far more importantly, a radical change is taking place in how the automobile is to be incorporated into our social structure.
A drastic shift away from the previously individual, personal "collector's item, hobby and leisure device and sometimes also status symbol" towards the most emission-free "utility object", which can and will be made available to us on public roads for a fee for a certain period of time when mobility is required and will also be able to travel autonomously in the foreseeable future.
Part 1: 1.30 - 4.30 p.m.
Paradigm shift in the classic car world and its effect on collectors, markets, technology, restoration and the importance of documentation.
Part 2: 18.00 - 21.00 hrs
Paradigm shift in the automotive world and its effect on the next generation of vehicles as well as the effect on the classic cars of today and tomorrow (Quo vadis classic cars?)
