The Schlumpf Museum, now known as the "Cité de l'Automobile" and located in Mulhouse in Alsace, is of course famous for its huge Bugatti collection. But this summer there is another reason to travel to Mulhouse, namely a Lamborghini exhibition entitled "Pop Lamborghini", which is certainly worth seeing.
Pop culture and sports cars
Ferruccio Lamborghini succeeded in doing what few men have managed to do. He built sports cars and his brand has survived to this day.
Many of his sports cars also became true icons and trendsetters, such as the Miura, but also the Countach and LM002 models.
So it's no wonder that the figureheads of pop culture bought a Lamborghini, such as Johnny Hallyday and opera singer Grace Bumbry. And who doesn't remember the role of an orange Miura in the movie "The Italian Job"? Incidentally, this exact car can also be seen in Mulhouse.
Impressive special exhibition
The Lamborghini Museum and many private collectors have helped to create an interesting insight into Lamborghini's work at the Schlumpf Museum. The exhibition follows the sometimes turbulent history of the Italian car manufacturer through various themes.
Not only special cars are shown, but also many archive documents (photos, film clips, etc.).
Not just a must for Lamborghini fans
From July 9, 2020 to January 10, 2021, the Schlumpf Museum will become a Mecca not only for Lamborghini fans, but for fans of Italian sports car construction in general. And finally, you can also take a look at the beautiful Bugatti collection. The "Cité de l'Automobile" museum is always worth a visit.
