The spectacular, historic racing event at Silverstone is celebrating its 30th birthday, and 2020 will once again be one highlight after another.
The legendary race track is just a 70-minute drive from London Heathrow Airport, so a visit to this classic event can also be planned as an attractive weekend trip for continental Europeans.
This year, the premier class of motorsport, the FIA Masters Historic Formula One Championship, will once again be paying its respects. It is the ultimate competition for Formula 1 cars from the golden age.
The FIA Masters Historic Formula One Championship, which is held for Formula One cars from 1966 to 1985, takes spectators back to an era when Cosworth DFV engines and creative engineers won races, and the clever interpretation of the regulations meant that exceptional designs were always added to the racing field.
Legendary racing cars such as Lotus, Ligier, Hesketh, March, MaLaren and many more are entered in the two races held as part of the historic Formula 1 championship.
Other attractions from the packed racing program include races in historic Formula 2, Formula Junior, endurance legends, pre-1966 GT racers, and racing celebrities will also be in attendance.
For those who still have time to watch the racing action on the track, there will be an extensive supporting program, automobile clubs will introduce themselves and Silverstone Auctions will once again be hosting an auction, the details of which will be announced soon.
The weekend promises pure racing spectacle, where every millimeter and every hundredth of a second will be fought for. No racing fan should miss this classic!
