PS.Speicher is expanding its world of experience: since November 29, 2025, the "Model Vehicles" collection has been inviting visitors to experience the world of small, large vehicles. On around 150 square meters, the show presents more than 8,000 model vehicles in ten themed rooms.
With the "Model Vehicles" collection, PS.Speicher opens a new chapter in its diverse exhibition landscape - and shows just how great passion can be on a small scale. Under the motto "Fascination Miniature", the new collection showcases the entire spectrum of the passion for collecting - from nostalgic toy cars to elaborately crafted collector's items, from large 1:5 scale wind tunnel models to tiny 1:220 scale models.
It reflects how diverse people live their fascination for model vehicles - with very different approaches, interests and stories. The focus is not on the value of exclusive individual pieces, but on the joy of diversity and personal enthusiasm. It is aimed at families and beginners as well as experienced collectors, who can discover new points of contact here.
The presentation focuses on a lively exhibition experience and individual stories. In addition to an introductory text and four overview topics - on scale, diorama, the model vehicle market and the question "Who actually collects?" - a digital level provides in-depth content via QR codes. In the five-meter-high collection tower, five selected exhibits per collection category can also be explored via a screen. Furthermore, a walk-in diorama and a car quartet provide hands-on moments.
From an introduction to the variety of model vehicles and a comparison of different scales - using the legendary VW Beetle as an example - to an urban backdrop full of model cars, dioramas and a paternoster with models of all kinds, the tour leads through a variety of experience rooms. The final room "My Model" presents eight changing favorite pieces with their very personal stories.
The "Model Vehicles" collection is located on the PS.Speicher campus and regular admission is twelve euros, reduced admission is eight euros. Tickets are available online and directly at the museum. The reduced introductory price of nine euros only applies until December 14.
Just in time for the opening, PS.Speicher received the Innovation Award 2025 - the award is the result of a readers' poll by the magazine "Modell Fahrzeug". Editor-in-chief Andreas A. Berse praised the museum's commitment: "This is real teamwork. You can only achieve something like this together. What's more, the collection fits perfectly into the PS.Speicher range."
