Last weekend, the Classic Expo at Messezentrum Salzburg was the first port of call for thousands of classic car enthusiasts. The 20th edition of the international classic car fair attracted around 23,000 visitors, proving that classic cars are still a hot item. Founder and scene insider Hermann Schwarz is delighted that he can continue to realize his greatest passion and life's work with Classic Expo.
What makes Classic Expo special
Visitors appreciate the balanced mix of exhibiting dealers and service providers, a parts market and the range of private vehicles available for purchase. Clubs and associations are also an integral part of the trade fair flair. This includes the Motor Veteranen Club Salzburg. President Dipl.BW Gerhard Feichtinger is delighted with the successful participation: "We are absolutely delighted. The number of visitors exceeded our expectations and we were able to gain many new members for our club."
Three special shows
Various special shows provide particular highlights every year. Pappas Classic contributed this year with "60 years of the Mercedes Benz 600". The Hans-Peter Porsche Traumwerk from Anger provided another eye-catcher with "50 years of the Porsche 911 Turbo". The Piccolo Museo Storico exhibited "75 Years of Abarth" together with the SV office of Komm.Rat Franz Steinbacher. The unique racing history behind Abarth and the faithful replica of the Servizio Corse racing transporter were presented.
Premiere auction by Humer & Granner
The classic car auction on the Saturday of the fair was eagerly awaited again this year. Over 100 classic cars were put up for auction by Wolfgang Humer and Reinhard Granner. They reported a 90% sales rate. The highest price was achieved by a Ferrari Dino 246 GT L-series at 402,500 euros.
Satisfied exhibitors
Both new faces and long-time companions sum up the event positively. Ralf Scheuringer, owner of Sportwagenhaus.at, has been an integral part of Classic Expo since 2012. The Classic Expo is appreciated as a platform for expert discussions with customers and exchanges with colleagues.
R&H Automobile GmbH is also a long-standing companion: "Lots of special vehicles, lots of visitors and the perfect target audience." Daniel Höllinger, Managing Director.
Exhibitor Nils Pfeifer, CEO of Carola Daimler Cars, was present for the first time and is looking forward to returning next year. The personal setting of the trade fair format was particularly popular.
Anniversary next year
Next year, Classic Expo Salzburg will celebrate its 20th anniversary from October 17 to 19, 2025.
