From February 19 to 22, 2026, Retro Classics will open its doors in Stuttgart for the 25th time - and celebrate its silver anniversary with an extraordinary mix of history, passion and driving culture. The trade fair for driving culture is presenting a large number of top-class special shows to mark the anniversary, which will honor several automotive icons.
Many anniversaries to celebrate
A special highlight is the 50th anniversary of the Mercedes-Benz W123 model series. Hardly any other model shaped the streetscape of the late 1970s and early 1980s as much as this classic with a star.
Whether as a saloon, coupé, estate or cab - the W123 is still regarded today as the epitome of German engineering, durability and elegance. The special show presents rare original vehicles, special equipment variants and lovingly restored everyday heroes. It tells the story of a successful model that has become a symbol of reliability worldwide.
The 50th anniversary exhibition of the BMW 6 Series is no less elegant. Launched in 1976, the Grand Tourer combined luxury, sportiness and style in a unique way. With its characteristic shark nose and powerful straight-six engines, the E24 became an icon of Bavarian driving culture. Visitors can look forward to exclusive exhibits and fascinating insights into the history of this design classic.
Opel is also in the spotlight twice: 40 years of the Opel Omega A and 60 years of the Opel Rekord C are being celebrated in style. The Omega A - "Car of the Year" in 1987 - set standards in the upper mid-size class with its aerodynamic lines, modern technology and high suitability for everyday use.
The Rekord C, on the other hand, is considered a stylish icon of the economic miracle years: with its striking "Coke bottle line" and its versatility, it became a symbol of the automotive awakening of the 1960s.
With Retro Night and live auction
In addition to the anniversary shows, Retro Classics 2026 will once again offer a varied supporting program: the "Retro Night" on the opening evening promises stylish entertainment and encounters with like-minded people.
On Saturday, theClassicbid live auction at 3 p.m. will feature exclusive vehicles. A large vehicle sales market invites visitors to browse, marvel and trade.
Also for newcomers
The beginners' market also offers special classics up to 10,000 euros - there is something for everyone here, regardless of price range. The offer is complemented by the international parts market, the "Automania" world of model cars and many other attractions.
Retro Classics 2026 is therefore more than just a trade fair - it is an emotional look back at 125 years of automotive history and a meeting place for enthusiasts, collectors and the curious. An anniversary not to be missed.
