When the Classicbid auctioneers bring the hammer down, an almost physically palpable tension is regularly released among the spectators. Anyone who has missed hot bidding battles and thrills "live" in the past coronavirus months can now look forward to a new edition of the popular auction: at Retro Classics Bavaria in Nuremberg from December 3 to 5, 2021, it will once again be "to the first, to the second... and to the third!"
A total of 35 classic vehicles and all kinds of rare and high-quality automobilia will be auctioned off - in other words, lots of valuable collector's items on the great theme of mobility (Saturday, December 4, 3 p.m., Hall 4).
"After a long dry spell, we are delighted to have the opportunity to hold a live auction at Retro Classics Bavaria," says Rainer Hahn from the organizing company Auktion & Markt AG. "We have succeeded in putting together a colorful, balanced and interesting portfolio that has something for every taste and every budget - whether entry-level price or high-price segment. We are definitely expecting an exciting event with a good public response."
First, second and third ...
The range on offer extends from well-kept oldies and powerful US icons to elegant youngtimer sports cars in timeless designs. Also up for auction are historic car parts, Grand Prix accessories, a Bugatti Chiron children's car with a "real" engine sound and valuable watches - such as the "40 Years of World Champion Walter Röhrl" prototype from Offenbach-based brand Hacher.
There are some real treasures among the vehicles: An automotive contemporary witness from the economic miracle year 1957 is the "Pretzel Beetle" VW 1200 with the typical oval window and in the original color "Horizon Blue". The "Ovali", as the model is also known, had only three owners in its 64 years and was used practically continuously - quality workmanship from Wolfsburg, appreciated worldwide. By 2003, over 21 million units had rolled off the production line.
The 308 hp Californian super sports car Cheetah made it to just 28 units. The bright red racer from 1965 presented in Nuremberg bears the serial number 26. The MG F 1.8 VVC Silverstone in classic British Racing Green (2000) also has a high rarity value: Limited to a production run of 100 vehicles, the in-line four-cylinder was delivered exclusively in Switzerland - a handsome, modern roadster with a great driving fun factor!
For safety: Corona measures
The protection and health of all those involved on site is the top priority at Retro Classics Bavaria. Taking into account the current warning level according to the Corona Ordinance of the Bavarian State Government, Retro Classics Bavaria 2021 must take place as a so-called "2G+" event. This means that only vaccinated and recovered persons with a valid rapid test will be allowed access to the exhibition grounds. FFP2 masks and social distancing are mandatory in the halls for the duration of the event. The mask can be removed at fixed sitting, standing or working areas if a minimum distance of 1.5 meters is maintained or a face mask is installed.
This year, the pandemic requires contact details to be recorded and proof of vaccination and recovery to be checked. This is essential for the protection of all trade fair participants.
