Retro Classics Bavaria will be offering a tailor-made program with many surprises for its re-launch in Nuremberg on December 3-5, 2021. The fifth edition of the popular trade fair aims to build seamlessly on its previous editions.
Last year, Corona threw a spanner in the works for the organizers, but now preparations are in full swing: on the first weekend in December, the fifth edition of Retro Classics Bavaria will open its doors in the city of inventors, Nuremberg. At the end of the driving culture season, dealers, connoisseurs and collectors can once again look forward to 40,000 square meters of automotive passion - from "A" for car to "M" for motorsport to "Z" for accessories.
With certainty: opportunity instead of corona frustration
The fact that the popular scene platform can take place "by and large as usual" is due to an "extremely sustainable safety concept developed in close coordination with the authorities".concept", which can also be flexibly adapted to a changed situation if necessary, says Karl Ulrich Herrmann, Managing Partner of Retro Messen GmbH. Feedback from the industry shows that both suppliers and collectors are eagerly awaiting this step towards normality. There is no substitute for direct, personal contact at an in-person trade fair. This is a unique opportunity for all trade fair participants."
Across borders: Successful format in the "four-country corner"
The Franconian edition of Retro Classics has long been a must-attend event within the industry: After its premiere in 2016, the sister event of the world's largest trade fair for driving culture - Retro Classics in Stuttgart - quickly developed into a platform with its own face. Thanks to its knowledgeable audience, high dwell times and a pleasing revisit rate, it is now a trade fair that is as compact as it is high-turnover.
Time-honored pre-war veterans change hands in the halls of NürnbergMesse, as do lovingly maintained youngtimers and representatives of the exclusive Neo Classics segment - a strong growth segment of the classic car market. Participants from the Nuremberg metropolitan region, but also from other German states and neighboring countries, appreciate the event format tailored to the central location in the "four-country corner".
Special shows: Motorsport, ambulances and virtual racing fun
Retro Classics Bavaria is, of course, more than just a marketplace: in addition to a wide range of renowned dealers and service providers, a large vehicle sales market and informative club presentations, the elaborate and expertly curated special shows make a visit to every Retro Classics an experience. In two large BMW exhibitions, for example, visitors can learn interesting facts about "BMW at the IAA in the 1950s" and "BMW Motorsport 1950 to 1994".
The Nuremberg Red Cross Museum will once again be taking part, presenting interesting and quirky exhibits from the 1970s. Historical buses, impressive commercial vehicles and rare motorcycles can also be admired.
As a special surprise, visitors can look forward to a special sim racing area for the first time at a retro trade fair. Virtual motorsport on the screen offers "spectacular experiences and completely new possibilities", explains Karl Ulrich Herrmann. Sim racing is enjoying "a rapidly growing fan base" and is "a highly exciting topic overall, which we want to expand even further in the future".
