As part of the "Concours of Elegance Germany" at the beautiful Tegernsee, RM Sotheby's is organizing an auction with 20 vehicles and a few automobilia on 4 July 2026.
Together, the cars were estimated at almost EUR 20 million, and on average they are not quite 31 years old. A third will go under the hammer without a reserve price.
Porsche, Mercedes-Benz and Ferrari
Just six brands are represented at the Tegernsee auction, if Mercedes-AMG is considered a brand in its own right.
Seven Porsche, five Mercedes-Benz and four Ferrari make up the bulk of the range.
The super-rare Koenigsegg
The highlight of the auction will be the Koenigsegg One:1 from 2015.
Chassis 7108, one of six built for customers, was estimated at EUR 8 to 10 million. The name stands for the impressive power-to-weight ratio, which with one horsepower per kilogram certainly ensures extremely dynamic driving performance.
The five-liter V8 engine with two turbochargers produces 1379 hp. A lot of carbon fiber composite material ensures the low weight. After all, 4233 kilometers have been driven with the mid-engine sports car so far.
It will be interesting to see how the bidders, who must have the commission and VAT on the full amount in their account in addition to the bid, will react to this unique opportunity.
Two rare Porsche 356 Carrera
RM can offer two Porsche 356 Carrera in Germany.
The older car of the two is a 356 B Carrera 1600 GS/GT from 1960, estimated at EUR 470,000 to 570,000.
The younger car is a 356 C Carrera 2 from 1964, for which EUR 320,000 to 420,000 is expected. Both Porsche Coupés are offered without a reserve price.
Porsche fans looking for something special should also take a closer look at the 964 Carrera Cup from 1991 and/or the Porsche RUF BTR 3.8 from 1992.
Super classics from Mercedes-Benz
Mercedes-Benz cars continue to enjoy great popularity in the classic car scene.
With the 190 SL from 1960 for EUR 100,000 to 150,000, RM is offering the little brother of the 300 SL without a minimum price.
The family-friendly Mercedes-Benz 280 SE 3.5 Cabriolet from 1971 is expected to be considerably more expensive, with an estimate of EUR 300,000 to 400,000.
The Mercedes-Benz 190 E 2.5-16 Evo II from 1990 is more sporty. One of only around 500 examples built as an evolutionary model for the DTM, it is expected to fetch between EUR 250,000 and 280,000.
The lot list also includes an R129 and more recent Mercedes models.
BMW as the oldest car
The BMW 503 offered was built as a convertible in 1957.
The elegant four-seater is now set to find a new owner for EUR 250,000 to 300,000.
Half of the cars on offer are less than 25 years old, and a third are less than 20 years old.
These youngsters include a Ferrari 812 Competizione from 2023 (EUR 1.25 to 1.5 million), a Mercedes-AMG GTR from 2018 and a Porsche Carrera GT from 20024 (EUR 1.2 to 1.6 million).
The offer from RM Sotheby's on Lake Tegernsee is certainly very exclusive and something for the discerning bidder with a big wallet; after all, each of the 20 cars is expected to cost EUR 951,000 on average. A racing suit from Max Verstappen can be bought for a little less, but still over EUR 20,000.
