From August 22 to 25, 2020, the trip to celebrate RAID's thirtieth anniversary will take us from Klosters in Switzerland to the capital of Austria.
Three-day ride
The route leads from Klosters in Switzerland to Innsbruck in Austria on Saturday, August 22, continues on Sunday, August 23 from Innsbruck to Linz and ends on Monday, August 24 with the trip from Linz to Vienna.
Accuracy and speed
Drivers and co-drivers are equally challenged on the RAID. The challenging route is driven at a sporty pace and leads over the most beautiful roads and passes that Switzerland and Austria have to offer.
Tubing and regularity tests are in contrast to free rides without any testing character. This means that riders and their companions are challenged, but can also enjoy the scenery and culture at the same time.
Balanced program and special ratings
The anniversary raid is divided into different categories: Veterans (Special for pre-war cars), Classic (everything you can expect from a big rally), Openraid (no timing, no test). So there is the right category for every car and every need.
Special classifications are of course also included: Team classifications (Three cars form a team. The team with the lowest penalty points wins), Raid Ladie's Cup (ladies' teams, a tradition for over 25 years) and the Young Raiders Trophy (young drivers up to the age of 35 benefit from a discount of CHR 300).
Environmental and climate issues
The entire RAID organization believes that environmental protection must be actively pursued. This also applies to organizations that make their living from cars and, inevitably, their exhaust fumes. In order to make a decisive contribution to environmental protection, the RAID organization, together with myclimate (Zurich), calculated an amount to offset the emissions of exhaust gases during the rally. This amount has already been transferred and will also be paid for all future RAID events. The anniversary RAID 2020 is therefore the first rally to commit to environmental protection.
Exciting supporting program (optional)
Parallel to the already very exciting RAID, participants also have the opportunity to enjoy themselves away from the race track.
This involves an exclusive city tour of Vienna on an old Viennese streetcar. Various sights will also be visited and lunch can be enjoyed.
Living next to the world-famous opera
Culinary highlights are provided as well as suitable accommodation. At the destination in Vienna, an overnight stay in the Grand Hotel next to the State Opera is planned. The invitation to tender will be issued in February 2020, but you can already order the documents today.
