The busy race organizer Peter Auto will once again deliver an exciting programme in 2017. The plan for 2017 includes some well-known, popular events. But there will also be something new to look forward to.
The classics
- Jarama-Classic (March 31 to April 2) The Peter Auto season starts in Spain. Six plateaus start this year on the Jarama circuit, near Madrid. The circuit was opened in 1967 and has been an important part of Spanish motorsport. Last year it hosted the Jarama Classic for the first time.
- Spa Classic (May 19 to 21) The Spa Classic took place for the first time in 2011. Since then, hundreds of historic cars and thousands of spectators have come together at Spa-Francochamps. The circuit at the foot of the Ardennes offers not only exciting races but also wonderful views.
- The Grand Prix de l'Age d'Or (June 9 to 11) is the oldest event for historic automobiles. This June, the Grand prix de l'Age d'Or celebrates its 53rd anniversary and has been held at the Dijon-Prenois circuit for 13 years. Since 2014, Peter Auto has once again taken over the organization and is bringing a total of 10 grids to the start in 2017.
- Monza-Historic (June 30 to July 2) Of course, Peter Auto will be making a detour to Italy again this season. The first racing cars started in Monza, north of Milan, back in 1922, and they are returning there again today.
- Les Dix Mille Tours (October 20-22) The 2017 season ends at the Paul Ricard race track in Provence. 300 historic cars will start in seven grids, making the Dix Mille Tours one of the biggest classic car events in France.
The highlights
- The Tour Auto Optic 2000 (April 24 to 30) is taking place for the 26th time this year - so it's already tried and tested. This year, however, the 230 participating teams will be taking a new route. After the traditional exhibition at the Grand Palais Paris, they will travel via Saint Malo and Toulouse to Biarritz.
- Chantilly Arts & Elegance Richard Mille (September 10) The Concours d'Elegance will take place for the fourth time in 2017. A Bonhams auction is on the program, as well as a tourist rally for collectors and a small rally for supercars such as the Alfa Romeo 8Cs or the BMW i8s.
The novelties
- Hungaroring-Classic (September 29 to October 1) This year, Peter Auto is on the road in Eastern Europe for the first time - on the Hungaroring near Budapest. The almost 4.4 km long track is quite narrow and bumpy and will be a real challenge for the participants.
