With online auction models becoming increasingly popular with classic car buyers and sellers, the time has come to expand The Market's successful UK approach to other countries.
"Following our most successful year to date, we are delighted to announce the launch of our first overseas office," comments Tristan Judge, Director of The Market in the UK.
"Since our launch in 2016, classic car enthusiasts in the UK have enthusiastically embraced our new way of doing business. In fact, hundreds of classic and collectible cars with a combined value of more than £15 million have now been sold online through our proprietary platform, so it's incredibly exciting that enthusiasts in four major European countries will now be able to benefit from a similar online experience."
Focus on Switzerland, Germany, Italy and France
Owners and enthusiasts of classic and collectible cars across Europe can now buy or sell their next beloved vehicle more easily than ever before after The Market, licensed its successful platform abroad via a partner from Switzerland.
The new company, based near St. Moritz, will operate online classic car auctions in Switzerland, Germany, Italy and France.
The multilingual continental European version of "The Market" will adopt the pioneering customer-centric model that "The Market" has successfully used in the UK for the past four years. It offers buyers and sellers transparent, affordable and simple ways to buy and sell classic cars.
Cheaper and more transparent
Trust and transparency will also be at the heart of "The Market's" new Central European platform, with vehicles listed in detail and accompanied by photo galleries. In contrast to traditional auction houses, the new platform ensures that more money flows back to the sellers, as it does not charge any fees to buyers and sellers pay a relatively low commission.
Sellers can also benefit from the company's popular turnkey concierge service, which includes premium photography, comprehensive description, on-site storage, viewing facilitation and vehicle handover.
The technology at the heart of the new platform is the result of an extensive six-month investment and development phase, enabling both multi-lingual and multi-currency formats, which will allow the flexibility and scope for further overseas expansion and licensing. Further technical developments will also be incorporated into The Market's UK platform to enhance the experience for UK users.
"Having seen the success of The Market in the UK, we are excited to introduce this technology and new way to buy and sell classics to car enthusiasts across Europe," commented Tisa Pusnik, CEO of TheMarket.eu, who will lead the brand new team and operations. "Our license agreement has made the set-up incredibly quick and easy - from processes to technology to branding and other operational aspects, everything is covered and we are ready to hit the ground running with the first sales in a matter of weeks."
More information about the new service and the vehicles on offer can be found on The Market's new multilingual website.
