Fans of classic cars can look forward to a very special weekend at the Autostadt in Wolfsburg. Two classic car events on July 24 and 25 invite you to get up close and personal with the classics, take photos or simply marvel at them. The highlight of the weekend awaits on Sunday: the participants of the Karmann Ghia and Volkswagen Type 3 meeting will drive through Wolfsburg as a parade before gathering in the Autostadt.
There will be a chance to take photos from 9.30 a.m. on Saturday, as all participants in the drive organized by the Volkswagen Management Association will gather with their 50 or so classic cars in the short-stay parking lot at the ServiceHaus. The joint tour in the direction of Celle starts at 10 am. The first vehicles are expected to return to the Autostadt at around 4.30 pm.
It will also be nostalgic on Sunday: owners of around 50 Karmann Ghia and the Volkswagen Type 3, which celebrates its 60th anniversary in 2021, will gather on the Piazza forecourt from 10.45 am. In addition to the lovingly maintained vehicles from the Karmann IG Südheide, guests can also see the red Karmann Ghia Cabriolet (1974) from the ZeitHaus collection - Volkswagen Classic and the Volkswagen AutoMuseum Foundation will also be on site with their own vehicles.
Before the meeting, all accredited participants will set off from Vorsfelde at 10.00 a.m. for a parade through Wolfsburg. The route runs along Heinrich-Nordhoff-Straße via Dieselstraße, Heinrich-Heine- and Braunschweiger Straße, before crossing the Berliner Brücke bridge into the theme park.
The Autostadt asks its guests to observe the general hygiene regulations and rules of conduct - you can find out about the relevant regulations on the Autostadt website in advance of your visit.
