The circle of friends of veteran vehicles is growing continuously. The youngtimer sector is just as lively, flourishing and thriving. The aspect of rolling cultural assets is maturing. These are the foundations for taking a closer look at this topic.
The markets, the prices and the number of events with veteran vehicles are growing noticeably. At the same time, discussions on environmental and climate protection are intensifying.
Reliable data is important
It is therefore urgently necessary to obtain up-to-date facts and data on the market as a whole. These basics are now being collected in a broad-based study. The Swiss market is being examined.
The data will be collected on four levels:
1) A representative survey of the population on the subject of "veteran vehicles"
2) An online survey of owners of "veteran vehicles" (vehicle data, inventory data, length of use and mileage, operating costs, future expectations and socio-demographic data)
3) A survey of club presidents, opinion leaders and experts
4) A survey of businesses that deal with veteran vehicles (dealers, repair workshops, spare parts suppliers, insurance companies, tourism)
The results of the study should enable the umbrella organization SHVF to effectively represent the interests of all owners and friends of veteran vehicles in Switzerland.
For the study to be a success, a high level of participation in the survey by owners of veteran vehicles and classic cars is necessary in order to obtain a comprehensive picture and reliable data and facts.
The vehicle survey is conducted online.
It is available in German and French.
Participation is aimed specifically at owners of vintage and/or classic cars and takes around 8 to 15 minutes.
