From March 20 to 22, 2015, the industrial premises of the Richard Adam Gallery, Brno, Czech Republic, will be transformed into a world for lovers of historic cars, motorcycles and related crafts.
Classic cars, motorcycles, fashion and crafts at the Classic Show in Brno take visitors back to the time when the first cars and motorcycles drove on the roads. A rich accompanying program ensures an authentic, historical atmosphere. Fashion shows with commentary are also planned.
Contemporary clothing and accessories will be presented, which are especially designed for classic car owners. Naturally, the clothes, hats, bags and even shoes are for sale.
Omega 1923
A local highlight of the fair will certainly be the premiere of a rarity. Very few people know that engineer Novotny designed the first Omega brand car in Brno in 1923, thus establishing the production of solid "Z" brand cars for Zetka. And it is precisely this car that will now be unveiled to the public at the Classic Show in Brno.
Skoda Polytex and Felicia
When Skoda was looking for an attractive roadster, they had a convertible prototype built from alternative materials. The only example with the long name "Spartak Versuchswagen Roadster Polytex" soon fell into oblivion and was modified and disfigured several times.
The current owner and Skoda prototype collector Pavel Kalina shows the renovated car for the first time in Brno at the Classic Show 2015 .
Craftsmanship live
The show is alive! And that's because some specialists will be demonstrating their skills on actual workpieces. You can see how new fenders are created from a sheet of metal, how a wooden frame is made and how elaborate car upholstery is produced.
On the other hand, a European rarity will be celebrating its international premiere in Brno and will undoubtedly be another eye-catcher. The Type 87 is a rare model from a French sports car manufacturer. Jiri Matl discovered and bought the special classic car. After more detailed research, it became clear that the top skin is carried by a rare chassis.
The luxury brand Delahaye was one of the most sought-after between the world wars and is again today. Fortunately, the original plans of its original wooden body, in the shape of a ship, have been found. The reconstruction of such cars belongs in the hands of a specialist and so the car was sent to Hemzal, a company specializing in wooden bodies, which conjured up a body like the one produced by Jean Labourdette using the old method of gluing strips of precious wood in layers. Pittner took care of the engine overhaul, Aeroservice supplied the brass parts, Tetour built metal parts such as the mudguards, and Zabloudil carried out the saddlery work. The many small parts were procured by self-help at foreign classic car fairs.
Wikov, a lesser-known luxury brand, is represented by the Type 35. This attractive and unusual car has a body that was already nicknamed the Swan at the time.
Another thirty restored classic cars bear witness to the rich history of the pre-war automobile industry in the former Czechoslovakia. A Skoda 104, former police car of the city of Brno, will be shown for the first time at the Classic Show 2015 after its restoration.
Something for motorcycle fans too
Motorcycle fans will not miss out either. In the exhibition you will find the millionth JAWA in its original metallized gold color.
The MontyJAWA company specialized in foreign motorcycles fitted with JAWA engines. So we see for the first time a Socovel from Belgium, a Carabella with 350 cc, a Jawa from Mexico or a Leonette from Brazil. There are always pretty girls on his stand too...
Last year a rare Bianchi Tonale was auctioned at the Classic Show, this year it can be seen in its former glory. Treschl and Vyskocil, who specialize in the construction of fuel tanks and mudguards, will be demonstrating their manufacture live on their stand this year. Satek will be exhibiting and producing sought-after gear wheels.
Book presentation
After several years of research, automotive historian Jiri Kohlicek has succeeded in uncovering lost facts about the Wikov company and automobiles. On Saturday, his monograph in three parts will be officially christened in Brno. The monumental work comprises 850 pages and 2000 photos, many of which have never been published before. The price of 100 euros is also astonishingly low.
A trip to Brno is definitely worthwhile...
