It is one of the annual events, the auction of the classic car gallery in Toffen in the fall. On October 19, 2019, the people of Gürbental will once again be able to offer almost 100 vehicles with a total value of around CHF 2.8 million.
Broad mix
23 convertibles (and 2 Targas), 25 coupés, 29 saloons, 2 SUVs, 2 estate cars, a van, 3 tractors and 7 two-wheelers with an average age of 45 years will go under the hammer on October 19, 2019.
Mercedes-Benz passenger cars are the most represented brand (15 vehicles), followed by Jaguar (10), MG (7) and Ferrari (5). All other brands are registered with less than a handful of lots, including rarely seen manufacturers such as Singer or Kaiser.
Two Beetles ...
Normally just one VW Beetle makes it into the catalog, but this time the Oldtimer Galerie can offer two examples, namely a 1300 from 1970 and a particularly beautiful 1200 De Luxe from 1962 (CHF 25,000 to 28,000).
... and two Ford T models
And while we're on the subject of "Volkswagens", we should also mention the two Ford Model Ts, the 1919 Touring Special and the 1923 Tudor Sedan, which represent the pre-war fraction of five vehicles.
Both T-models will be auctioned without a minimum bid and are expected to fetch around CHF 10,000.
If you want to be a little more comfortable on the road but are looking for a close relative, choose the Ford Model A as a Tudor Sedan from 1930 (CHF 10,000 to 15,000), while those with a sportier mindset can opt for the 1935 Singer Nine Le Mans, which was widely presented on Zwischengas a few years ago.
For the last days of fall
The range of convertibles is extensive. From the MG TC (CHF 24,000 to 28,000) to the Jaguar XK 120 from 1952 (CHF 95,000 to 115,000), there is a wide range on offer.
Newer open-top classics such as a Mercedes-Benz 230 SLK from 2000 or a Porsche Boxster 2.7 from 2006 are also on offer.
Mustang and Eldorado twins
It will also be interesting to see how two doubly represented cars fare at the auction.
There are two cars of the Cadillac Eldorado Convertible from 1976 in the catalog, as well as the Ford Mustang March 1971 and 1972.
Interesting motorcycles
The motorcycles on offer are also impressive. These include the Ducati MH 900e from 2001, the Benelli 500 Quattro from 1975 and the high-flyer, so to speak, the Benelli 900 Sei (with six-cylinder engine) from 1982.
Basis for an MG collection
If you would like to build up an MG collection, you will find almost a complete range of post-war models in Toffen, namely TC, TD, A, B and even a Y Saloon from 1948. All cars are offered at moderate prices.
There is also a pre-war MG, namely an MG VA as a Tickford Drophead Coupé from 1938 (CHF 35,000 to 40,000).
Mercedes-Benz model range
The selection at Mercedes-Benz is even greater than at MG.
Whether sporty SL as R107 or R129, comfortable saloon or elegant coupé, many different tastes are sure to find a car of their dreams here.
Rarities
We would also like to highlight a few cars that have become particularly rare today.
There is the Sunbeam 1500 GT from 1973, for example, which is looking for a new owner for CHF 5500 to 7500.
Or the Monteverdi Sahara from 1979, which is listed in the catalog for CHF 30,000 to 35,000.
The CMC Classic Destiny from 1996 (CHF 30,000 to 35,00) or the Maserati Kyalami 4200 from 1978 (CHF 55,000 to 65,000) are also certainly something special.
A fifth of the lots are offered without a minimum price, so here is a chance to get your dream classic at a slightly lower price.
