What do vintage cars, flowers and fashion have in common? They are all part of the twelfth "Retro Classics meets Baroque" at the famous Ludwigsburg Residential Palace. From June 5 to 7, 2015, the most beautiful classic cars in automotive history as well as the popular "bread and butter" cars from the post-war period will be presented and awarded prizes in front of the elegant palace backdrop.
Broad program
In recent years, over 30,000 visitors have gathered on the extensive grounds of the Blühenden Barock not far from the state capital Stuttgart to marvel at the historic vehicles. "For us exhibitors, Retro Classics meets Baroque has become a permanent fixture in the annual calendar of events," said one classic car owner.
Away from the public exhibition, collectors are offered a broad program - from elegant evening events to musical performances.
Fashion and classic cars
At the seventh Festival of Classic Cars, more than 180 classic car owners will be presenting their vehicles built up to 1984 - and themselves in vintage attire at the same time. This year there will also be a special field of vehicles in a special class: unique cars in their original, unrestored condition.
Children vote
For the Children's Choice Award, a jury of car-loving children will choose their favorite. The second prize awarded by the children's jury is the Children's Fashion Award. This goes to the classic car and its owner who impresses the most at the traditional retro picnic au château with their historically appropriate wardrobe in combination with their vehicle. The collector with the best historical clothing will also be honored with the Fashion Award during the short drive.
Who is the most beautiful?
The highlight is the traditional Concours d'Elégance, now in its twelfth year. A 30-strong jury from the fields of culture, technology, design, history and journalism awards prizes to these exclusive collector's items in accordance with the strict rules of the FIVA. More than 40 vehicles are examined and awarded for historical, technical and aesthetic aspects, their safety, authenticity, elegance and the sophistication of their design.
The Best of Show award ceremony is the crowning finale of the FIVA A event in the Schlossgarten and the end of a weekend that can compete with the crème de la crème of automobile exhibitions throughout Europe.
