Until August 2025, the PS.Speicher in Einbeck is taking a look back at the recent past with a new special exhibition "Do you remember.... of beetles and cheese urchins", the PS.Speicher in Einbeck is looking back into the recent past and reminiscing about car brands such as Glas, Goliath and DKW; idioms and everyday objects as well as other "lost treasures" of the 1950s and 1960s that still play an important role in the hearts of many people.
The exhibition shows a wide range of exhibits, most of which come from the PS.Speicher collection: Bicycles, motorcycles, small cars and automobiles; tractors, utility carts, vans and minibuses. They exemplify the diversity and transformation of vehicle history and everyday culture - both in West and East Germany. Everyday objects that were once a natural part of life are exhibited in the accompanying showcases. Today, they are merely relics of a bygone era.
As usual, PS.Speicher shows the vehicles in sceneries. At the center is a historic gasoline filling station; a loading situation shows everyday life in the 1950s. Visitors are given a lively insight into the past in seven different themed areas. An accompanying brochure is available at reception for four euros.
"Do you remember..." is the follow-up exhibition to the small car exhibition "Small but mine". Admission is included in the ticket price of a regular visit (regular €19, reduced €15) to the main exhibition. The complete price list and further information on the special exhibition can be found on the PS.Speicher website.
