Once again this summer, many new books have come onto the market that should interest car enthusiasts. A small selection from Alfa Romeo to Triumph is presented here.
Alfa Romeo - The work of the Arese era
Giulia, GT, Alfetta, Giulietta, Alfa 75 - the bestsellers of the traditional Milanese brand Alfa Romeo all originate from the legendary Stabilimento di Arese plant. At the time of its construction in the early 1960s, "La Fabbrica" was the most modern automobile production facility, and practically everything needed to build the sporty dream cars was manufactured on site.
In his latest work, Alfa expert Umberto Di Paolo presents the history, the factory parts from the forge to the paint shop, the organization, the cars and the protagonists - all uniquely richly illustrated with countless photos from a treasure trove of images that had yet to be unearthed from the archives.

Sandizell - gentleman driver and motorsport functionary
Such people were once called gentlemen drivers: Carl Max von und zu Sandizell was one of the protagonists of the German motorsport scene in the pre-war and post-war period. The "Renngraf" was best known as a rally driver and later as the long-standing sports president of the Automobilclub von Deutschland AvD.
With numerous previously unpublished photos and meticulous research, the renowned automotive historian Erik Eckermann paints a picture of motorsport history from the 1920s to the early 1960s using the example of Count Sandizell, scion of an old Bavarian noble family and an enthusiastic gentleman and sports driver from an early age.
This exclusive AvD biography follows the racing count from his beginnings with long-distance driving and automobile beauty contests through the period of the "Third Reich" with the Nazis' appropriation of motor sport in particular, right up to the post-war years with the reconstruction and revival of motor sport.
This biography is a unique historical document of several eras of automobile history in Germany - and a wonderful addition to the collections of every connoisseur and enthusiast.
